"To criticize any Martial Art style or any one technique on your path to black belt is pointless. It is the mere fact that you train hard, and train consistently in any style that will ultimately give you the edge in a confrontation." - F. Ehnle
"A rich sense of accomplishment can only be achieved by finishing those things in life which are difficult. Tasks which are easy do not yield the same result." -F.Ehnle
"I began my training in 1972. There is not the undeniable honor and respect among all black belts as there once was. A few still hold onto those values, but there are others who are nowhere near being a true black belt in regards to respect and honor." - F.Ehnle
"When someone threatens you, they are demonstrating a weakness of character. It is ultimately that weakness you will prey upon on your road to victory." - F.Ehnle
"To be a black belt is, to never do less than you are capable, and to never do more than you are capable of. It is to know exactly what you are capable of and to use that to its highest potential." - F.Ehnle
"My suggestion is for each political party to be limited to three TV commercials per day (morning, afternoon, evening). All the rest of the MILLIONS of dollars they spend on TV ads would have to be spent within the community. Could you imagine the improvements we'd see if the MILLIONS of dollars they spent on redundant, slanderous, useless TV ads were spent on helpful programs within our communities?" -F.Ehnle
"THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX, IT'S THE ONLY PLACE I FEEL FREE ENOUGH AND CLEAR MINDED ENOUGH TO THINK EFFECTIVELY. I REALLY DON'T LIKE IT INSIDE THAT BOX." -F.Ehnle
" The only way a student can have complete confidence and fully embrace a technique is when they feel that technique work against full resistance." - F. Ehnle
"It takes no effort whatsoever to trip up those who are completely caught up in themselves." -F.Ehnle

Sometimes a student steps way out of their shoes, the ego is mega-inflated, confidence over-blown, head grows to an immense size. The instructor must humble the student by first humbling himself. It is all about leading by example. - F.Ehnle
The police report said the 5'2" female fought for her life. "There were signs of a violent struggle throughout the house". What does that actually mean? It means most times lambs don't die willingly. They just don't have the skill set to survive a violent attack." "I'll show that 5'2" female how to carry and use a blade effectively, how to drive a steel pen up throw the lower jaw, how to gouge eyes like there's no tomorrow (because there might not be). How to take a 6'3" large male off his feet and then bury a heel in his face, drop full body weight on the tempero-mandibular joint. How to collapse and or cut a windpipe, break the temple. Most importantly how to avoid and deflect that first incoming strike and then counter violently. Yes, I take lambs and make them into lions.... It is my job, my responsibility." "I'm in the lamb conversion business"...... -F.Ehnle
"Never bring "absolutes" into your training. If someone tells you this will "absolutely always work" or this will "absolutely always happen", you can pretty much guarantee that it is absolutely BS. Nobody has a magic crystal ball to see the future situation you will be in or how you will react. The best you can do is train and prepare yourself with as much versatility, awareness and skill as humanly possible." -F.Ehnle
"White belt joins a school and stands in the back of the school, works hard and eventually promotes up a few ranks to green belt. Then at green belt attends the first advanced class. There the green belt again lines up in the back of the school. The green belt trains for years more and eventually earns black belt. The new black belt comes to black belt class for the first time and once again lines up in the back of the class. Master Phil and I have opened schools and both have been teaching for over 17 years and we've achieved Master rank. We attend the World Head of Sokeship council of Grandmasters and where do we sit? In the back of the class.... In the true circle of training a and perspective, if you are humble and respectful, you are always in essence a white belt." -F. Ehnle
